National averages for both diesel and gasoline continue to climb week-over-week in every region of the country. According to data tracked by the Energy Information Administration (EIA), fuel prices for both diesel and gasoline kept increasing across the U.S. this week, with diesel over the $3 mark in almost every region of the country except for three.
Yet concerns are voiced over efforts to broaden toll road use, impact of spending on federal deficit. In President Trump’s first State of the Union address, he called on Congress to produce an infrastructure bill of at least $1.5 trillion while also easing the regulatory review process.

Dry van and refrigerated load-to-truck ratios are edging down after hitting record peaks in early January, load board operator says. National average dry van and flatbed spot rates fell slightly for the week ending January 20, with refrigerated or “reefer” spot rates remaining unchanged, according to data tracked by load board operator DAT Solutions.
Diesel stays over $3 per gallon on a national basis as costs spike along the East Coast.
The national average price per gallon for diesel and gasoline remained elevated this week, though there are significant fluctuations on a regional basis in week-to-week price comparisons, according to data tracked by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
NSC analysis indicates “accidental” deaths are now the third leading cause of fatalities in the U.S.
Based on its data, NSC said an American is accidentally injured every second and killed every three minutes by a “preventable” event, such as a drug overdose, a motor vehicle crash, a fall, a drowning, a choking incident or another preventable incident.
